Bookmobile 2023: Support Student Growth this Summer!
As the weather warms and the school year draws to a close, we at Greater Than are preparing for the critical transition period that happens over summer break. This time of year presents a great opportunity for us to connect with students and support their growth and learning over the summer. We also partner closely with parents and families over the summer to assist them and their students prepare for the next school year. Especially important are the connections we build with students transitioning to a new school: students entering kindergarten, middle school, high school, and those beginning college or career.
Students and families in line to get food and books.
Greater Than Bookmobile is one key way we connect with students, families, and the community during the school break. Bookmobile helps to support literacy and provide essential supplies to help students continue to grow and thrive. This weekly summer event visits apartment complexes and other centers of the community where many students and families work and live. Our volunteer readers gather outdoors with any and all interested students and read several books aloud to students of all ages. Bookmobile events often include instruments and live performances, adding to the fun and interactive experience. All students go home with:
Culturally affirming, dual-language books
Fresh produce and other pantry staples
Information on how to access supportive services from community partners
School supplies and back to school information
As students continue to recover from the effects of the pandemic, we need your support now more than ever. Your donation will help us continue to offer programs like Bookmobile and other literacy and math initiatives that provide students with the resources they need to succeed. By investing in the future of our communities, you are helping to ensure that all students have access to the support they need to achieve their full potential.

We’d be honored if you’d consider a gift to support students this summer.
