As the new school year begins, Greater Than is renewing its commitment to over 1,000 students and families through 35+ active partners. We believe that deep collaboration is key to effectively serving the complex needs of systemically under-resourced neighborhoods.

Summer GT Connect offers enriching experiences for students transitioning between schools, blending education and fun with exciting activities. Your support helps us build bridges between academic years and stand by students and families on their educational journey.

Last month, we highlighted Lincoln Street Elementary School Summer Academy which is designed to ease the transition to school life for incoming kindergartners and 1st graders, fostering confidence and foundational skills through engaging lessons and activities. Partnering with community organizations like PLAY.FIT.FUN and the Oregon Zoo, Greater Than is committed to nurturing young learners' growth.

In June, we celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of Greater Than's class of 2023 graduating seniors. Despite the unprecedented challenges they faced due to the pandemic, these resilient students persevered and have made plans for their future, paving the way for sustainable, fulfilling careers.

Greater Than is gearing up to support students this summer! Through initiatives like Bookmobile, we connect with students, families, and the community by providing culturally affirming, dual-language books; fresh produce and other pantry staples; information on how to access supportive services from community partners; and school supplies and back to school information.
